Late Spring 2009

 

Spring is finally here and everything is starting to bloom. The social season is already in full swing. Chair-man Mills is happy to be a sponsor at the Ontario Science Centre’s Innovators Ball. The ROM and the AGO continue to be popular venues. Fundraisers are happening weekly, St. Clement School’s Gala Verde at the Toronto Botanical Gardens, and De La Salle’s dinners both are being held in May. Also from May 8-21st is the very exciting Junior League Designer Showcase at McLean House at Sunnybrook Estates. This project showcases the top designers in the city and benefits the worthwhile programs supported by the Junior League. Of course, June is a peak month for parties. Luminato will have events all over the city, including one being held at the beautiful National Ballet School. We are a sponsor once again at the annual Toronto Taste which this year is moving to the Yorkville Area. One of the city’s most elegant events is the National Ballet’s White Hot Gala which is held at the Four Seasons Centre for Performing Arts. June is always VERY busy and this year promises to be the same!

For me, one of the most enjoyable aspects of this business is meeting all the wonderful brides and grooms. They are flooding into our showroom, especially on Saturdays and each couple has their own vision for how their special day should unfold. I have been doing my spring “shopping”, although a bit more conservatively this year. The beautiful contemporary “Mirage Chair” has arrived. It is a very fashionable crystal clear chair which looks very elegant, but is also amazingly comfortable and sturdy. New linens have arrived and some specialty plates, including a beautiful cut crystal charger plate. Please call for pictures or better yet, visit our showroom.
